Rafale Solo Display
The Rafale is a twin-jet combat aircraft capable of operating from an aircraft carrier as well as from a land base. Completely versatile, the Rafale can carry out all the missions devolved to combat aviation: air superiority and defense, ground support, deep strike, reconnaissance, anti-ship strike, nuclear deterrence.
The Rafale entered service with the French Navy in 2004 and the French Air Force in 2006. It has proven itself in combat in Afghanistan, Libya, Mali, Iraq and Syria, totaling more than 30,000 flight hours in operation. The Rafale has been ordered by Egypt, Qatar and India.
The Rafale Solo Display team provides technical flight demonstrations for the RAFALE combat aircraft. The presentation is a sequence of aerobatics and combat maneuvers. The goal is to present the breathtaking evolution, rotation and acceleration capabilities of this Dassault Aviation aircraft.
The RSD is also one of the Air Force “ambassadors”. As such, in addition to making the French aeronautics industry shine, they represent France in all of their travels, especially abroad.
The 2020 pilot is Captain Jérôme Thoule, known as “Schuss”.
