Lawrence J. Mastny, USAF veteran
Lawrence J. Mastny is 73 years old.
Enlisted in the USAF in 1972, after his pilot training, he carried out his transformation on North American OV-10 “Bronco” to go fighting in Vietnam.
On his way to war, he was stopped in San Francisco when the first peace agreements were signed.
He therefore became an instructor on the Northrop T-38 “Talon”.
From 1982 to 1992, he flew on the famous McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom and was deployed around the world.
With this international experience, in 1992, he took command at Istres in France to pilot the Boeing KC-135 refueling aircraft.
Returning to civilian life in 1999, he began an airline pilot career for the company Spirit Airlines. Lawrence is married to a Frenchwoman, Aline, who is none other than the granddaughter of the famous aircraft manufacturer René Leduc.
